DevOps, Jenkins, Git, Docker, Virtualization, Chef, Kubernetes, Cloud, AWS...
Are these words confusing you?
The world of IT is rapidly evolving, with new technologies emerging everyday, it can be challenging to keep up. So how do you keep up?
To begin with, lets see what DevOps is. A combination of the two words Development and Operations, it is an integration of these two teams in order to improve collaboration and productivity by automating workflows, infrastructure towards Continuous Integration & Deployment of products. DevOps is essentially a culture of close collaboration that uses tools like Jenkins, Git, Docker, Virtualization, Chef, Kubernetes, Cloud, AWS.
DevOps, as a career for engineering graduates (B.Tech) or MCA/BCA students is a great path and has a lot of potential for future growth and is exciting to work on as it provides opportunities to learn new technologies, automate and integrate tools.
DevOps now forms the core of the IT Industry. Companies like Amazon, Shell, SAP, DataCoral, Goldman Sachs, IBM, Siemens, Accenture, TCS, Infosys are hiring DevOps engineers like never before.
It is therefore an important and impressive skill to have on your resume as most job descriptions demand this skill.
